Traditional Chinese Medicine is originally derived from Traditional Taoist medicine, which follows the Yin Yang theory and principles of the universe. It indicates that human lives and energies are rooted to the cosmic energy and changes constantly with seasons. Because of these changes, our human lives have the process of these stages of birth, growth, maturation, aging and death. The abundant of Qi and blood is like the ricer to nourish the life. When Qi and blood are exhausted, our lives will be ended. Human's mind, body and spirit are all need Qi and blood to nourish. Exhausting one aspect will cause others being out of balance. In TCM system, human's emotions, physical body and spiritual body are all in one, they are all connected.
Acupuncture system uses meridian and channel to describe the health of the human being. Through these channels, it is believe that human's life energy is connected with the cosmic energy through the skin pores, there are the main 365 acupuncture points on the surface of the body. The balance of Yin (body fluids including blood and essence) and Yang (fire energy) is the key to maintain a good health and longevity. This way, people apply healthy-living principle to daily's life, focus on harmonizing body’s Yin Yang energy and prevent disease happening. This way of living is called as Yang Sheng in Chinese, a directly translation in English is “cultivation of life and health.” TCM practices also follows Taoist principle of “Follow the way of Heaven, the things are done benefits all and harms none.” As we can see, the tools and medicine used for healings are simple and effective. The herbal medicine comes from the nature and easily returns to nature without causing any pollution. The treatments generally cause no side affects to the body.
Traditional Chinese Medicine has 3500 years history, and now is the most influenced medicine in the world. Acupuncture is one of the major natural healing remedies in Traditional Chinese Medicine system that helps to restore the human body’s function. Chinese herbal medicines and acupuncture have been largely studied by modern sciences and validated by clinic trials worldwide. The World Health Organization maintains a list of conditions, diseases and disorders that are treatable by acupuncture.
There are twelve main meridians cover the surface of the body through acupuncture points. They forms a circus that Qi travel around without stop. The protective Qi runs the circus 50 cycles a day, start from Lung-Large Intestine-Stomach-Spleen-Heart-Small Intestine-Urine Bladder-Kidney-Pericardium-San Jiao-Gall Bladder-Liver.
ACUPUNCTURE THERAPY
Acupuncture, the original meanings of the healing in Chinese is “to correct” the unbalanced Qi and blood flows. By inserting the “correct Qi” to the acupoints to correct the Qi flow.
Any internal and external pathological factors can cause the disruption of energy and blood normal flow, which causes of the initial stage of the illness. When the correction of this disruption is quickly in action, the development of disease can be stopped quickly. If this Qi and blood abnormal flow are not able to be corrected in time, pathological factors can move to deeper level and further down in the channels and tissues. A severe condition starts to develop.
Acupuncture uses fine solid needles to insert into body to stimulate the local area. Practitioner uses hands to manipulate the needles to bring strong Qi to the needle. It helps to achieve opening, wakening, connecting, releasing, boosting our nervous and vascular system to allow our body retain to normal healthy conditions. Today, the needles are mostly stainless steel needles, that are sterile, filament-thin, flexible, single use and relatively pain less. These acupuncture needles are disposable, these is no chance to get cross infection with others.
Another commonly used alternative treatment is electricity acupuncture, which uses a continue or discontinue electric pulsation to the needles to give a strong stimulations. This can be a better solution for managing the pain-related conditions for some people.
Holographic theory is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine systems. Any functional unit of our body such as hand, foot, ear, eye, nose, and so on can reflect a whole organic human body. Therefore, treating a small area of our body can profoundly effect to the whole body. This reflects that everything of body is connected and contains the information of the whole body. The practices we see so far, ancient acupuncture techniques include hand-acupuncture, foot-acupuncture, naval-acupuncture, auricular-acupuncture, eye acupuncture and so on. Some family or linage inherited techniques may focus on using one or a few styles. Some practitioners learns many systems and then develop some their own systems. So the effectiveness of the acupuncture is depended on the skill and knowledge of each individual practitioner.
